1 Hour Classes Available

 

Students can choose what they wish to work on in class!

(Note: A Warm Up and Stretching will be required to prepare the body for training each time, and recomendations will be made for the individual based on their strengths and weaknesses, but otherwise it is up to the student, or parent depending on age if under 18.)


1 ON 1 CLASSES

(The following are areas which the student can chose what and how long they wish to work on.)

1) Stretching
2) Drills
3) Forms
4) Technique Sets
5) Breaking (or Cutting - TBD)
6) Sparring - TBD
7) Self-defense
8) Cardio
9) Weapons - TBD
10) Other - TBD

CLASS EXAMPLES

(Note: The following are examples of possible class breakdowns but the students, or parents if under age 18, can still request what and how long they would prefer to work on each.)


1) Taekwondo (Korean) like Karate (Japanese) is the martial arts discipline involving striking techniques, primarily with hands and feet.

Example for Taekwondo Class
5 min - Meditation & Warm Up
10 min - Stretching
10 min - Drills
10 min - Forms
10 min - Breaking or Self-defense
10 min - Sparring (or Hit/Kicking Bags)
5 min - Meditation & Cool Down

2) Hapkido (Korean) like Akido (Japanese) is the martial arts discipline invloving self defense and grappling sparring techniques.

Example for Hapkido Class
5 min - Meditation & Warm Up
10 min - Stretching
10 min - Drills
10 min - Technique sets
10 min - Breaking
10 min - Sparring (or Hit/Kicking Bags)
5 min - Meditation & Cool Down

3) Kumdo (Korean) like Kendo (Japanese) is eastern fencing as the martial arts discipline of the sword.

Example for Kumdo Class
5 min - Meditation & Warm Up
10 min - Stretching
10 min - Drills
10 min - Forms
10 min - Cutting or Self-defense
10 min - Sparring (or Sword Bag)
5 min - Meditation & Cool Down

4) Cardio Kick Striking techniques, primarily with hands and feet, general exercise type class, just without Forms / Technique Sets, Breaking, or Sparring.

10 min - Blocking
10 min - Striking
10 min - Hand & Feet Targets & Hit/Kicking Bags, etc.
5 min - Meditation & Cool Down

5) Self-Defense

Example for Self-Defense Class
10 min - Mental aspects about self-defense
5 min - Self-defense items
5 min - How to move and fall and not get hurt
5 min - Blocks with blocker and actual strikes
5 min - Strikes on Body Opponent Bag
10 min - Punch blocks & counter strikes
20 min - Grab hold escape techniques

Self Defense Class - 2 Hour Crash Course
20 min – Mental aspects on self-defense
10 min – Self-defense items review
15 min – How to deescalate, move, and fall and not get hurt
15 min – All blocks with blocker and against actual strikes
15 min – All types of strikes on Body Opponent Bag
15 min – Punch blocks with grab & counter strikes with take downs
20 min – All most common grab escape with counter strike techniques
10 min – Student demos of what was learned against actual attacks

Additional advanced knife & gun counter techniques added into self-defense classes if applicable*
(*i.e.- military, federal agents, law enforcement, private security, black belts)

Sparring

Sparring is encouraged if class has other willing students but everyone must have a complete set of sparring gear.

Kumdo (< pictured left) requires full armor for head, chest, and forearms / hands.

Taekwondo & Hapkido (pictured right >) both require; helmet, mouthpiece, chest guard, fist / forearm guards, instep / shin guards, and groin guard / cup.
